Catch Up!

So according to our blog, we have just recently gotten engaged....well fast forward 20 months later, and we're almost at our year and half mark! WAHOO! Haha-who would of thought we would have made it this long? Actually it has gone by super fast, and so far has been a great year and a half! :) So I'm just going to do a quick recap of our past year or so, and then I'll keep up with this blogging thing! Okay, well I'll TRY.


NOVEMBER 2008Well after being engaged for what seemed like the longest three months of our lives, we were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple on November 15, 2008. Luckily for November it was a beautiful day outside. It was a fun and wonderful day for for the both of us, and we were so grateful for the family and friends that were able to make it!


We were able to go on a week long honeymoon to Florida, and stay in a sweet condo there (thanks to a very awesome friend-love you becca!) While we were there we went to the beach, and Treasure Island, and Universal Studios
(Wes recommends the spiderman ride-his absolute favorite!) Even though the weather wasn't too warm, we had a awesome time!!






Summertime 2009
I was FINALLY able to find a job as a CNA for a Home Health Company, and really enjoy it! Wes started his first summer as a Firefighter for the BLM. It wasn't an easy job, hard physical work, some days (sometimes weeks) of long hours, and even though he came home exhausted everyday, he says he absolutely loved it! Sounds like some kind of masochist to me!

Between work, we were able to squeeze in a few quick trips to St. George, and Salt Lake a few times.

Also, Wes purchased his first baby....



AUGUST 2009
Rambo, oh I mean Wes, went out for his annual bow hunting with his dad. They spent a few days on Mt. Dutton and Wes killed his first elk. Insert from Wes: Not only did I kill my first elk, but I called it within ten yards from me and stuck it with an arrow, he went sixty yards and dropped...(then he goes on to talk about gutting it, but we don't need the details on that)



We both started school up again, I'm studying to go into Nursing, and Wes is taking classes for Wildlife Biology, and we both still have a ways to go...yipee!

SEPTEMBER 2009
We moved into our new place. They are some cute townhouses and we LOVE it! I love it because we have more space, and a little yard. Wes loves it for one reason....garage, do i need to say more.

OCTOBER 2009
After a long time of searching for truck, we bought a Toyota Tacoma. Wes' new baby :)

NOVEMBER 2009
We had a new nephew born, little Riley Ben Henricks thanks to Missy and Kal! He is the sweetest little baby, and has the most adorable smile! We love you!
Riley also has the cutest big brother, Taylor...these are out two favorite nephews!


FEBRUARY 2010
R.I.P The Toyota Tacoma was laid to rest on I-15 two miles south of Cedar City...compliments of Emily Mangum...oops :( I got away with a few nasty bruises, but the truck didn't have quite as good of luck.


I would have had before pics, but Wes deleted them already...they made him depressed. Haha, just kidding, but seriously he did.

APRIL 2010
We went on a quick weekend trip to Mesquite with Jamie and Jason, we all had a good time. I even gambled for my first time...and lost :( The weather was awesome, and it was a nice break to help get us through this last stretch of the school semester!

There you have it, a quick summary of our last year! We had some good times and some hard times...much more good though! And I'll try not to let another year and a half past before writing again.

IT'S OFFICIAL

It's finally official!!! We're engaged!! My super awesome Fiance proposed to me last night and I couldn't be happier! And boy it was a surprise! Let me tell you the story....

So I knew that he had the ring and that he was going to propose to me sometime but I had no idea when or how so I was always being a little suspicious of people. But last night I was totally caught off guard! Wes had had been talking to my roommates about different ways they could help him do the big thing, but due to weather and other things he decided to do it at the movie theater since we were going last night for Becca's Birthday! I wasn't planning on going to the movie all day because I was too tired and didn't mind spending that night hanging out with Wes. But Wes kept telling me to just go, and he'll buy the tickets, etc etc. I kept telling my roommates how weird it was that Wes really wanted to go see SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2!! haha...But he finally convinced me to go, since it was Becca's birthday and everyone else was going. He told me earlier that he stopped at the theater to check out the times, and to buy our tickets so that I had another reason I had to go. (he was really talking to the manager about his little plan). He's so sneaky!

So we head off to the movie and I thought that he was acting really strange that night. So we went to the theater and sat down, I didn't know he strategically placed me on the edge so I could get out. The previews started going, and then Wes got up because he said "he had to go to the bathroom" and I believed him! Then a couple minutes passed and the previews stopped and the lights came on. Everyone was so confused! Two workers came in and said they have had a lot of problems with people sneaking into the theater so they needed to all see our tickets stub...I was thinking crap, wes has mine!! When they got to me I didn't have my ticket and told them by boyfriend was in the bathroom. They insisted I went with them! I couldn't believe it. So while they looked at a couple more tickets I had to stand at the front with them because I would have to be taken out. Then they did a little role play pretending like they remembered selling me a ticket (even though I knew I wasn't there when he bought them!) and said I could go sit down again. So I took a couple steps, then they said "Oh wait, actually we need you to come back here," and so I turned around and Wes had come in holding a bouquet of roses! I was shaking, and he was too! He got down on one knee and said "I love you Emily and I want to spend the rest of my life with you!" I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling or shaking! then he said "Will you marry me?" And of course I said "YES!" The Whole theater cheered, which was filled with girls! So everyone was cheering! Wes then turned around and said, "Let's watch the Movie!" and we sat down to watch the movie. I don't even remember what it was about because I was on cloud nine the whole time, it as such a surreal moment.


After the movie, all the ladies in the audience came and looked at my ring it was so fun. I love my ring, I looked down once and said, "This is the prettiest ring I've ever seen, and it's on my finger." We were both so happy! Everything Wes did that night turned out perfectly and now we get to start the wedding plans! I can't wait to start out life together. ♥

It's only the beginning

Well I thought this would be a good place to document me and Wes's crazy adventures! Recently we went on a way cool hike up a slot canyon about 10 miles from Cedar City. It's a water hike the whole way! We went with 2 of my roommates and had a blast.

On the 24th of July, Wes took me up to Panguitch to go to the awesome parade, and to see my very first Rodeo! It was awesome! We also got to do some fireworks at my apartment. We left the shutter open and did a cool picture with a sparkler...thats us making a heart! pretty nifty eh?

Well don't worry, I'll keep you updated on our fun life together! :)
